Dale R. Edlebeck, SET Retires from Tyco Fire Protection

After a 43 year stint at Tyco’s Ansul division, Dale Edlbeck has retired from the fire suppression business.  Dale began his career with Ansul in 1971, becoming well known as an instructor at the Ansul Fire School and as a respected technical expert on Ansul’s Engineered Systems.   He has served on multiple NFPA Technical Committees and maintained a NICET Level IV in Special Hazards.  He has also worked as a volunteer fire fighter in the town of Peshtigo, WI.

Dale has been an active and valued member of the FSSA technical committee since 2004 where he was the task group leader for three of the four CO2 design guides and also participated in the clean agent hold time testing that was the precursor for development of the Pressure Venting Guide and computer program.

Dale attended all of the Annual Forums, except one, from 2006 to 2014 where he and his wife Bonnie became key organizers of the Fun Run.

Typically modest of his accomplishments, Dale relates; “Many of the members of the FSSA contributed much more than I did over the years.  I will miss this group more than any of the other organizations I represented as part of Ansul/Tyco.”

Please join the entire FSSA membership in expressing thanks and best wishes to Dale and Bonnie as they embark upon a well-deserved retirement.   His positive outlook and professionalism have been a real asset to our organization and industry.

But don’t be surprised if we call for help sometime Dale!
